The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Aquaventure World

The Lost Chambers Aquarium is a very fun and exciting place in Dubai. It's located inside the Atlantis, The Palm resort on the Palm Jumeirah island. It is very special because it is designed to look like the lost city of Atlantis. When you walk through it, you feel like you are underwater with amazing creatures.

The aquarium has several big tanks filled with over 65,000 marine animals. You can see all kinds of fish, sharks, rays, and more. The Ambassador Lagoon is the biggest tank in the aquarium. It is huge and has thousands of sea animals swimming in it. You can watch them through a giant window, which is like looking into the ocean. Seven Chambers are smaller tanks that look like old ruins. Each chamber has different kinds of sea animals and plants. You can touch some of the sea creatures like starfish and sea cucumbers. It's a great way to learn about them up close.

There are many types of colorful fish. Some are small like clownfish, and some are big like groupers. You can see different kinds of sharks, like blacktip reef sharks and hammerhead sharks. They are very cool to watch. Rays are large, flat fish that glide through the water. You can see eagle rays and cow-nose rays here. The jellyfish exhibit is beautiful with colorful lights. Watching them float is mesmerizing. These tiny creatures are very interesting. They look like horses and swim in a unique way. You can find different types of eels hiding among the rocks and coral.

The idea for The Lost Chambers Aquarium started in the early 2000s. Construction began in 2006. The Lost Chambers Aquarium opened to the public on September 24, 2008. The aquarium is inspired by the story of Atlantis, a mythical lost city. It looks like an ancient underwater city with ruins and chambers full of sea creatures. The design mixes ancient Greek and Roman styles with a fantasy look.

Kerzner International Holdings Limited, a company known for luxury resorts and hotels, developed the aquarium as part of Atlantis, The Palm. The main architect was Wimberly, Allison, Tong & Goo (WATG), a firm specializing in designing resorts.

Building the entire Atlantis, The Palm resort, which includes The Lost Chambers Aquarium, cost about $1.5 billion dirhams. The exact cost of just the aquarium isn't known, but it was a big part of the overall budget.

The aquarium has over 65,000 sea animals in different exhibits. The Ambassador Lagoon, a giant tank, holds millions of liters of water and thousands of marine creatures. Visitors can snorkel, dive, and walk underwater. The aquarium offers educational programs to teach people about sea life and how to protect it.
