The Dubai Mall comes in the list of the world's largest and most popular shopping malls. It is located in Downtown Dubai, Dubai, UAE. The Dubai Mall is located so close to the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, that the straight-line distance between theBurj Khalifaand Dubai Mall is approximately 500m. The Dubai Mall covers a total of approximately 1.1 million square meters, contains more than 1,200 retail shops, entertainment options, various attractions, and offers a variety of shopping options, including luxurious fashion brands like Gucci, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. It also has many popular stores like Zara and H&M. In comparison to the other modern shops, a small place inside named Souk the Mall sells items like jewelry, carpets, and handicrafts, which feels like a heritage Arabian marketplace and offers a different experience that is tempting for both residents and tourists.

The Emaar Properties, who owns the Dubai Mall, is one of the leading real estate companies originating in Dubai who also built the Burj Khalifa. The design of the Dubai Mall was provided by DP Architects, which is an architectural company based in Singapore. The construction of both theBurj Khalifaand Dubai Mall started in 2004. In October 2004, Emaar Properties started their construction of Dubai Mall. They scheduled the opening date for the Dubai Mall in 2006. But unfortunately, many delays occurred and the date was extended beyond the scheduled date. Major delays were caused by issues like supply chain issues, which means the multiple material providers from all over the world can often lead to delays, but this is common in large-scale projects, and regulatory approval issues, which means the large-scale projects need numerous approvals and inspections to check the criteria of safety guidelines. After many delays, finally, the project came to an end, and Dubai Mall was officially opened on 4 November 2008. During the initialization of both buildings, Sheikh Maktoum was the ruler of Dubai. Later in his period, Sheikh Mohammed, who was his younger brother, became the ruler of Dubai. Behind this, Sheikh Mohammed was the most connected ruler in the development of these projects, while Sheikh Maktoum's vision was in the overall development of Dubai.

Inside Dubai Mall, a main attraction is the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. It was the world's largest indoor aquarium, which has a total of approximately 10 million liters of water, which means 2.64 million gallons of water inside the tank, and it is made up of the world’s largest acrylic panel. The panel is 108 feet wide, 27 feet high, and 29.5 inches thick, and weighs 541,486 pounds. Starting from the ground level of the Dubai Mall with an overhead tank, it provides a 180-degree tunnel view of the aquatic animals. Not only the tunnel view, but in a large suspended tank, you can also go on a ride inside the water with a boat that has a glass bottom for the view of more than 40,000 aquatic animals and you can also enjoy the experience of cage diving with sharks.

Inside the Dubai Mall, there is a waterfall, and more interestingly, the waterfall has many statues with optical illusions of people diving into the waterfall, which creates a sense of animation. If you look at one statue deeply, then the other statues vanish. This is known as the Human Waterfall or Rain of Light, which is placed in the central place of the mall connecting the different sections known as Grand Atrium. The illusion is achieved by the design of the statue, which uses some lighting techniques and strategies of catching refracted light from various paths. This is possible by the shadows, which create the vision of movement in the statues. The statues are not just for making illusions, they show the artwork of the Dubai Mall by tempting the curiosity and complexity of how it works. The Human Waterfall is not just a showpiece of the Dubai Mall; beyond the Dubai Mall, it's a masterpiece of sculpture art.

The Dubai Mall has the world's largest candy store, with a total of 10,000 square feet. It is located near the entrance of the Dubai Aquarium on the ground floor, which attracts tourists of all ages by the glowing colors of the candy. When you step into Candylicious, you are welcomed by a combination of colors, and your dopamine starts craving the colors. The store is decorated to steal your heart with bright displays and colorful decor. The giant lollipops and candy sculptures create a feeling of passing through an environment of Heaven's Candyland. Candylicious is divided into many sections, each with its own theme, which makes you curious about what’s next.

The Ice Rink inside the Dubai Mall is a perfect place for enjoyment with your family and friends, which offers a better experience in a smooth and fun environment. The environment is not only for skating; it also offers a variety of sports events and fun activities, including ice hockey and disco parties where skaters can glide to the beats and lights. The staff in the ice rink are always friendly and always have a high concern for tourists' safety. The World of Ghosts: Hysteria is a haunted house located near the cinema on the second floor of the Dubai Mall. The house increases the cortisol level. It is specially made for fear-facers. It gives a deep experience of paranormal activity by confusing the difference between reality and illusion. KidZania is a place in Dubai Mall specially made for children between 4 to 16 for entertainment, fun activities, and learning. This concept allows the children to experience the adult life of more than 80 professions, including doctors, pilots, and chefs. By participating in the roles, they get Kidzos, which is the official currency of KidZania, used to buy goods inside KidZania.
