Etihad Museum

The Etihad Museum in Dubai is a special place that tells the story of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is a modern museum designed to explain how the UAE was created, featuring a variety of interesting exhibits such as old items, photos, and interactive displays that help visitors understand UAE history. Located in Jumeirah 1 near Union House in Dubai, the museum holds significant historical importance as Union House is where the leaders of the seven emirates signed the agreement to form the UAE in 1971.

The museum building itself is modern and resembles a large paper scroll, symbolizing the document signed by UAE leaders in 1971. At the entrance, there are seven golden columns representing the seven emirates. Inside, visitors can learn about the founding fathers of the UAE, including Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum of Dubai, discovering their lives and contributions to the formation of the UAE.

Among the exhibits are numerous historical artifacts such as personal belongings of the UAE’s founders, important documents, and photographs, all of which contribute to telling the story of the UAE’s formation. Interactive displays including touch screens offer an engaging way to learn, allowing visitors to watch videos, view photos, and read about various aspects of UAE history.

Union House itself is part of the museum experience, preserved to reflect its appearance in 1971 when the founding agreement was signed. The museum also showcases the UAE Constitution, displaying the original document and explaining its significance in governing the country.

For educational purposes, the Etihad Museum provides guided tours, workshops, and activities suitable for visitors of all ages. There is also a library where visitors can delve deeper into UAE history through books and information resources. Additionally, a gift shop offers souvenirs and books related to the museum, while a café provides a relaxing spot for refreshments after exploring the exhibits.
