The Dubai Butterfly Garden is a magical garden offering a unique experience with nature. As one of the largest covered butterfly gardens in the world, it highlights Dubai's dedication to creating green spaces that promote biodiversity and environmental awareness.
The garden is part of the Dubai Miracle Garden, which is located in the Dubailand area, and is a must-visit for nature lovers, families, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the city's busy life. The Dubai Butterfly Garden was opened in the year 2015 after the successful opening of the Dubai Miracle Garden, known for its beautiful floral displays.
The idea behind the Butterfly Garden was to create a habitat where butterflies could live and visitors could see and interact with them up close. The garden's design naturally attracts the butterflies. The Dubai Butterfly Garden covers 6,673 square meters and has ten specially designed roofs, each kept at a temperature of 24°C to 26°C, perfect for butterflies.
These roofs house over 15,000 butterflies from more than 50 different species, creating a vibrant and colorful environment that resulted in the increase of the visitor count. Each dome has a variety of plants, flowers, and water features that provide food and shelter for the butterflies. The garden's layout encourages exploration, with winding pathways leading visitors through different sections, each offering unique opportunities to observe and learn about butterflies. The Dubai Butterfly Garden is home to a variety of butterfly species from around the world, including Africa, Asia, and South America. Notable species include the Monarch Butterfly, known popularly for its striking orange and black wings, the Painted Lady, well known for its orange, black, and white patterned wings, the Tailed Jay, a tropical butterfly with vibrant green and black colors, and Swallowtail Butterflies, which are large and colorful, with distinctive tail-like extensions on their hindwings.
The Dubai Butterfly Garden is also an educational platform that promotes awareness about butterflies and their role in the ecosystem. It features informative displays and interactive exhibits about the life cycle of butterflies, their migration patterns, and the importance of conservation. Visitors can also observe different stages of a butterfly's life, from eggs and caterpillars to pupae and fully emerged butterflies.
The entry cost for the Dubai Butterfly Garden is generally around approximately AED 55 for adults and AED 55 for children above the age of 3. Children below the age of 3 have free entry.
However, prices can change, so it's always advisable to check the official Dubai Butterfly Garden website or contact them directly for the updated information on ticket prices. The Dubai Butterfly Garden was built by the Dubai-based landscaping company named Akar Landscaping Services & Agriculture.
